Restoration Project at Puistokartano Assisted Living Facility – Summer 2025

In the summer of 2025, Soukka Art Society will carry out a restoration project in collaboration with the Puistokartano assisted living facility. The project focuses on restoring older wall paintings located in the facility’s outdoor areas.

The aim of the project is to revive the visual culture visible in residents' daily lives and to honor the creative work of previous artists.

The restoration will strive to preserve the original brushwork and colors while restoring the vitality and visibility of the artworks in shared spaces.

Both visual arts educators and summer camp participants will take part in the work under guided instruction.

The restoration will also serve as a conversation starter around memory, place, and the aesthetics of care. The result will be a more coherent and vibrant environment for residents, staff, and visitors alike.
