Soukan Taideseura ry aims to reach children, young people and adults from all backgrounds who are interested in art. The strength of our activities is our values based on equality, and we reach people from 3 years old to senior citizens who are interested in art. We see creativity and freedom of expression as a fundamental right that everyone can exercise. We strive to actively promote equality.

Our association is politically and religiously neutral, and we do not allow discrimination. Equality in our activities means that everyone is treated equally, regardless of their age, origin, nationality, language, religion and beliefs, opinion, political or trade union activities, family relationships, disability, health status or other personal reasons. Equality is implemented both in teaching groups and within the work community.
Equality
The board and staff of the Soukan Art Society respect gender equality, and attention is paid to the realization of gender equality in all activities. Our values are based on the right of individual self-determination and everyone's right to be themselves in their art hobby. The atmosphere of the art hobby is accepting and respectful, and we do not allow discrimination or bullying based on gender identity in any form. We pay attention to, for example, girling and boying in speech, because we cannot assume that we know everyone's gender or experience of their own gender. When registering for membership, courses, or schools, we do not ask about the gender of the person coming to our activities, i.e. we do not collect statistics on students by gender.
