Summer 2025 – STS Summer Course (some more catchy name) to be invented… Teacher: Jaakko Heikinheimo (MA Art, MA Arch) Location: Soukka Art School and its surroundings, Oppilaantie 2A, 0236 Espoo Age group: Suitable for all ages 9 am-1 pm 6-12 years old 1:30 pm-5:30 pm over 12 years old, including adults ''Welcome to the summer course, where art, nature and fresh air meet! The course is organized at Soukka Art School and its surroundings, where participants work outdoors and settle in a place of their choice during the day. In case of rain, we will move to STS's magnificent almost 9-meter high studio space, which is illuminated by strong natural light. We use professional equipment such as large easels and brushes. The course introduces students to painting with natural colors prepared by themselves, summer light and painting outdoors. Participants can freely choose their working location within the art school environment. Students also prepare their own tempera paints using traditional methods. The teaching is guided but free-form – everyone is allowed to work at their own pace and try different ways of expression. The course is suitable for both first-time and more experienced artists.
