Opposites workshop 45 min
Eskari and 1st-2nd grade
Service Description
In the art workshop, we explore opposites through modeling and construction. For example, we can take the pair of opposites moving – focused. We explore how to create a sense of movement and how to create a stopped and still atmosphere. Students can also utilize opposites in the pace of their work. When doing something moving, you can do it quickly and detachedly, and when doing something focused, the student can calm down and do the work focused, calmly, meditatively and for a long time, immersing yourself in the work. Preliminary task: Explore the concept of opposites. Is joy the opposite of sadness? Or are they emotions that alternate – come and go. What concrete opposites do you see in nature? The opposites fast – slow, is one always good? How does it feel when there is peace around you? Can you concentrate in a noisy environment? Afterwards: How did it feel when you had to make the fastest possible construction? What did you accomplish when you had more time? You can also try painting/drawing fast and slow, focusing on the same subject. OPS: phenomena, visual arts, movement Encourage the student to discuss their observations and thoughts. => What kind of actor are you? Encourage the student to experiment with different materials and techniques and to practice making constructions.
